Our services

Counselling that meets you where you are

We offer a range of talking therapies to support adults through life's challenges — in person, online, or by telephone.

A safe space to talk

At Herne Bay Community Counselling, we believe that everyone deserves access to quality mental health support, regardless of their financial situation. Our trained and accredited counsellors work with you at your own pace, in a confidential and non-judgemental environment.

Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, bereavement, or simply feeling overwhelmed, we are here to help you find your way through.

What we offer

Individual counselling

One-to-one sessions with a qualified counsellor, tailored entirely to you. We work with a range of approaches including person-centred, integrative, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).

Sessions are typically 50 minutes and take place weekly. Your counsellor will work collaboratively with you to agree goals and review progress at regular intervals.

Online counselling

Secure video sessions from the comfort of your own home. Ideal if you have mobility difficulties, caring responsibilities.

Sessions are conducted via a secure, encrypted video platform. All you need is a private space and a reliable internet connection.

Telephone counselling

For those who prefer not to use video, we offer telephone sessions that are just as effective and equally confidential.

Telephone sessions are a great option if you find face-to-face or video contact difficult. Your counsellor will call you at your agreed session time.

Short-term counselling

A focused course of six to twelve sessions for those who want structured support around a specific issue or life event.

Short-term work is goal-focused and time-limited, making it a good fit for people who want to address a particular concern without an open-ended commitment.

Long-term counselling

Open-ended counselling for those who wish to explore deeper patterns, past experiences, or ongoing mental health challenges over a longer period.

Long-term counselling allows for a deeper therapeutic relationship and is well suited to complex or longstanding difficulties.

The Other Conversation

Specialist counselling for anyone affected by a cancer diagnosis — whether you are the person diagnosed, a family member, or a carer.

A cancer diagnosis changes everything. The Other Conversation offers a dedicated, compassionate space to talk about the fears, grief, and uncertainty that can be so hard to share with those closest to you.
